June Membership Meeting

Dreamweaver CS5
Flash Video

Speaker: Rob Huddleston

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 - 6:30 pm

Location: Calaoms
950 Reserve Drive
Roseville, CA 95678

At the May meeting, we announced that we would not be holding a meeting in June and would instead hold one in July. However, some scheduling conflicts have arisen, so we're going to change that and meet in June but not July.

The latest version of Dreamweaver includes many very nice features, including intelligent code hinting for PHP, greatly simplified editing and designing for sites that rely on content management systems such as WordPress, and more. We will also take a look at the HTML5 Pack for Dreamweaver, which Adobe released just today, that adds many future-looking features to the program.

The second half of the meeting will take a look at using CS5 to create a complete Flash Video player. We'll show how you can work with video from start to finish - including shooting the videos and capturing them straight to disc with OnLocation, editing them in Premiere Pro, adding titles in After Effects, and then encoding them to FLV in Media Encoder. Then, we'll design an interface for our player using Illustrator, and pull the videos together and create an interactive player using Flash Catalyst. Does all that sound complicated? It's not - the entire process will take just under one hour.

We will be broadcasting the meeting online, so if you are unable to attend, please go to http://experts.na3.acrobat.com/sacadobejune10/ to join the meeting. You will need Flash Player and speakers on your computer in order to participate.

Post-Meeting Social

After the meeting, anyone who wants to can come over the BJ's to hang out and socialize. BJ's is only a few blocks from the meeting site.
